EXPERIENTIAL

The project seeks to uncover the marginalisation of non-normative bodies, such as those of the Dwarfism community. When encountering a person with Dwarfism for the first time, the centrality of their physical difference in conversations often forms misconceptions and stigmas due to the lack of understanding. Through collaborative social design, narratives and insights are gathered to challenge and reshape the socio-spatial challenges faced by the community. This project aims to bridge the uncertainties and address questions of the curious minds, ultimately fostering sensitivity and inclusivity for individuals with Dwarfism and the communities beyond.

INTERVIEWS

The lack of representation and narratives of the community has affected the public's perceptions that individuals with Dwarfism are unproductive, intellectually challenged and dependent. This is a two-part collection of four individuals and their experiences navigating life living with or alongside persons with Dwarfism.

Criquting the Built Environment

Standard architecture guidelines in the built environment are catered for the convenience and usability of average height individuals. Stools are staples for individuals with Dwarfism to counter height and reach issues at home. Each stool underscores the limitations of architectural norms, highlighting the exclusion of the built environment around us.
